Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Flo Jo is a cute but nervous little chiweenie (chihuahua/dachshund mix). She was found out in the country dragging her back legs and had sores on her feet and legs from dragging them. A visit to the vet office explained the likely cause of her rear end lameness- at some point Flo Jo was shot in the back. There is still a bullet in the muscle of her back. Removing it would likely cause more damage so it stays in. But it explains a lot. When we said we’d take her, we thought we were getting a paralyzed dog who might need a wheelchair to get around but Flo Jo surprised us! She gets around really well! Because of the bullet, she does have some nerve damage, which sometimes makes her pee or poop at random when she gets excited. She also does not do steps very well but this girl can climb a baby gate and jump on the couch! She is not a fan of young kids so we are looking for a home with teenagers and up only and people that understand that she might be a little nervous at first and nervous about a lot of handling but she will climb in your lap and give kisses - it just needs to be on her terms. Flo Jo weighs 12 pounds and is estimated at 4-5 years old. She takes gabapentin which seems to help greatly with the nerve issues. Flo Jo is a happy girl but she doesn’t love adoption events - she’s scared there. If you would like to possibly make Miss Flo Jo a part of your family, please complete an adoption application through our website: www.recycleddoggies.org. THAT IS THE FIRST STEP IN OUR PROCESS. Please do not just show up at an adoption event and expect to adopt a dog that day - we need time to review your application ahead of time, which is why we ask that you submit your application ahead of time so you don't miss out on the dog you are hoping to adopt while you wait for your application to be reviewed. Our adoption fee is $195. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, dewormed, heartworm tested (if over 9 months of age), and microchipped. We do not adopt outside our area, which we define as two hours drive time from downtown Cincinnati (zip code 45202 - use Google Maps to determine if you are within our area) NO EXCEPTIONS. This is for the safety of our dogs, so that in case an adoption does not work out, we can be sure that we can quickly get our dog back. We do not have a shelter or facility - all of our dogs live in volunteer foster homes. In order to not infringe on any more of the time of our foster families, we introduce our dogs to potential adopters at our weekend adoption events posted on our website - please do not request to meet the dog outside of an adoption event as we are unable to grant the request. If you have additional questions, please email recycleddoggies@gmail.com.
