My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jack is a gorgeous boy with an incredible personality. We pulled Jack from Animal Control when his time was up. His family didn’t want to take Jack with them when they moved and decided to just drop him off… at a kill shelter. We don’t understand how people can be so cruel or uninformed. This beautiful, young, sweet-as-pie dog was about to lose his life simply because the shelters are too full and his family didn’t care enough to help make sure he was safe. We’re glad we can give Jack a safe place until his forever family finds him.
Jack is a one-year-old golden Labrador retriever mix. He’s so pretty and incredibly outgoing. He’s long and lean with a gorgeous coat. He’s a bigger boy, weighing 75 lbs. He loves to run and play fetch in the yard. He’s a happy boy when he has his people around him. He loves attention. He struggles in the shelter. The confines of a small concrete kennel are too much for him. However, get him outside, he is a wholly different dog. Jack was made to be a running or hiking partner and the center of attention as a family dog.
He’s a happy-go-lucky boy and up for adventure. He loves his toys and welcomes a game of tug or fetch. We expect Jack would do well with other dogs and gives off a happy vibe. We’ll dog test him for potential adopters. However, he does not seem to like cats.. It seems as if Jack has been neglected most of his life and left to his own devices. He needs some rudimentary training to walk better on a leash and learn some house-training. Our shelter staff and volunteers are working with him and he gets better every day. He’s smart and eager to please. He’s just a big, sweet, wonderful boy who deserves a family that will love him.
If you are looking for an incredible young dog with good energy and a happy outlook, come meet our Jack. We bet you’ll fall in love with him.
Jack is neutered, fully vetted and microchipped.
