Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Davie is a 5-year-old neutered male black lab. Davie weighs 66 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.
DESCRIPTION:
Nov 11, 2018: Davie didn't have an easy life before he came to Lab Rescue now he is finding out what a dog's life should be. He is shy when he first meets you as long as you go a little slow he is fine happy to meet you and shows it by his wagging tail.. He is friendly and likes to be petted once he knows you. His personality changes when he goes out with another dog. It gives him confidence and lets him relax. A lot is new to him, if there is a noise he hasn't heard he freezes for a minute until he figures out it's not really scary especially if you tell him it is okay. He is just starting to play with toys and likes to play with a Nylabone. Takes treats gently. Davie is looking for a family that has another dogs and will give him TLC. Must go home with another dog.
Good with other dogs, likes playing with the other LR pups at the kennel. No cat history. Knows sit, come and working on down. Hasn't been on lead much, good with an Easy Walk Harness. Reported as house and crate trained, had run of the house.
Davie was part of a seizure of ten dogs by a local animal control we work with, and he was found on a chain outside living in deplorable conditions. Shelter took him in got him vetted, neutered and treated him for Heartworms. They worked on socializing him, one of their volunteers took him home with her, she has 4 dogs and 3 cats and he did well there. He was good with both the cats and the dogs and in fact slept with his foster.
