My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mulan is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH), female, DOB: 8/22/19.

Very much a gentle a gentle soul, with a bit of a mischievous side, Mulan can be a little hesitant when presented with unfamiliar situations but her super-friendly, inquisitive nature makes it impossible for her to play coy for long. Once confident and knowing all is well – she warms up quickly. Definitely liking attention, she will readily approach people to give and receive affection when she feels comfortable; and once she catches your eye, she's quick to speak her mind.

An extremely sweet-natured, playful, mostly easy-going, always endearing and entirely easy-to-please cat – she is also a devoted people cat. Not a girl who wants to stand idly by and watch activities from afar, she is happy-to-be-present and will want to be wherever her people are or where she thinks the action is. In fact, her favorite activity is to play fetch with her favorite people.

Mulan, along with siblings Baloo, Mushu, Dory, and Fidget, were all born in one of our foster homes to young, inexperienced mom, Jasmine who came to us pregnant from Monroe County Animal Control. All fragile and small at birth, they have all thrived under the joint care of their feline mom and foster mom. Mulan and all of her feline family members have been pretty healthy on our watch thus far too, receiving preventative treatments for fleas, worms, and other intestinal parasites.

Now a happy, healthy feline, Mulan is looking for her forever home with a family who can give her the time and attention a young cat needs.

Mulan is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a moderately-active lifestyle. She likes and gets along well with other compatible cats, and she’ll be comfortable in the presence of well-mannered, cat-friendly dogs and respectful children of any age given proper introductions and a period of acclimation to any new environment. Although unguarded and extremely social and friendly with all, Mulan will need a little bit of adjustment time to warm-up and adjust to her new surroundings. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable animals, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.

Mulan currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store. You can meet her by appointment with pre-approved adoption application. To start the adoption process, complete and submit Monroe SPCA’s adoption application linked above.

All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption.

Completed applications can be emailed to info@monroespca.org or dropped off at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store located at 293 W. Monroe Street, Dundee, MI.
