My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**ADOPTION PENDING**

Mushu is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH), male, DOB: 8/22/19.

As sweetly endearing as he is delightfully charming, Mushu (along with his siblings) came to our shelter from his foster home shortly after being weaned from mom, Jasmine. A social and friendly young feline, he’s also highly sensitive and more looking to operate in his comfort zone than having reservations or being shy. Happy to be in the company of people, delightfully playful while being as gentle as they come, and a big talker, Mushu will, no doubt, continue to mature into a confident, easy-going cat if given time to warm-up and settle in to any new environment. Also extremely affectionate and loving, Mushu both welcomes, and invites attention from his favorite people readily offering affection to those he knows and loves and always sweetly so.

Like most young cats, Mushu is pretty lively and curious about his environment, and once he's comfortable, he’ll be looking for adventure wherever he can find it. He has a great love of toys and, most often, he'll be seeking out adventure; content to explore on his own too, making use of his independent time by honing his feline skills -- prowling and stalking shadows, dust bunnies, toys, whatever is available. Mushu also appreciates interactive playtime with his people too. A comfy bed and/or soft blanket will go a long way toward making Mushu happy, as cuddling up for naps is one of his favorite pastimes.

Mushu, along with siblings Baloo, Dory, Fidget, and Mulan, were all born in one of our foster homes to young, inexperienced mom, Jasmine who came to us pregnant from Monroe County Animal Control. All fragile and small at birth, they thrived under the joint care of their feline mom and foster mom early on and continue to do so at our shelter. Mushu and all feline family members have been pretty healthy on our watch thus far too, receiving preventative treatments for fleas, worms, and other intestinal parasites as well as URI’s.

A healthy, happy, and extremely friendly young cat, Mushu is looking for a forever family who can give him the time and attention he’ll need as he continues to mature into the social and confident cat he was born to be. We recommend a paired-adoption with one of his littermates, although a pairing with several of our other kittens having compatible personalities and temperament might also be a good fit too.

Mushu is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a calm, low-active lifestyle and no active young children under the age of six (6). He is comfortable with other compatible cats and kittens, and he’s comfortable in the presence of well-mannered, cat-friendly dogs, but he’ll need some adjustment time to warm-up and settle into his new surroundings. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable animals, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.

Mushu currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store. You can meet him by appointment with pre-approved adoption application. To start the adoption process, complete and submit Monroe SPCA’s adoption application linked above.

All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption.

Completed applications can be emailed to info@monroespca.org or dropped off at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store located at 293 W. Monroe Street, Dundee, MI.
