Thatcher, the piebald hunk a dunk, is 18lbs of love. His age is a guess. We think 7-8y/o. Ya know, out of the puppy stage and all that goes with that.
Despite being stuck outside for most of his life, he’s embraced indoor living, sofas and has shown tremendous understanding that potty goes in the yard. He is learning to be a pet and a member of a pack and he’s doing very well indeed.
Thatcher would love a home that is active. Walks around the neighborhood or nearby park would be his idea of fun. He does ok with cats and small children might not be the best fit because he is 18lbs of snuggle muffin.
He does well in his kennel and loves to be outside especially going for walks.

All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Thatcher will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
