Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Wilson!
Wilson is an 8 year old Bichon Frise. Wilson is ready to meet his forever family!
Wilson recently came into rescue using a wheelchair part-time. He knows not to jump on furniture due to his back condition. He has some calcified vertebrae and is on pain management meds as his doctors have determined he does have some intermittent pain. His fosters are currently carrying him up and down steps so that he doesn’t add further stress to his back. He has a difficult time sitting. Wilson needs moderate play, walks and no jumping. He should avoid going up and down stairs.
Wilson is good with children. He has a deep bark but he’s just talking. Wilson probably should not run and play too rough with children in the yard due to his back issues but is a fun-loving guy. He is also good with other small dogs. Wilson will bark if someone comes to the door or if family comes in the back door.
Wilson loves to play with toys! He also loves to be petted. He will nudge you if you stop - meaning get would like you to continue. 😊
Wilson loves to cuddle on the couch with his foster. He should not be jumping off (or on) the couch so his foster keeps him close.
Wilson spins in circles with excitement when you ask him if he wants to go outside. He is happy to sleep next to you in bed or in a dog bed next to the bed. He is, in general, a really happy guy like most Bichons!
He is very subtle when he needs to go out to do his business. He will either wait by the door or come to you with a little whine. Since the weather has been so wet he has had more accidents in the house. I’ve also noticed when there are lots of people or a new dog it is like he is excited or anxious, and he will have accidents. Wilson’s adopter should be committed to keeping Wilson on a consistent schedule so he can continue the house training he’s learned and fine tune his manners in his new home.
If you are looking for a sweet, fluffy Bichon guy, please consider adding Wilson to your family.
Wilson’s adoption donation is $300 and he is fostered in Springfield Missouri. Adopter must be willing to travel to Springfield to meet Wilson and complete his adoption. Wilson is neutered and up to date on vaccines.
