Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Val! Val is a 1-2 year old bully mix that was picked up as a stray by Chicago Animal Care and Control. It appears she was cared for by someone previously because she is very clean in her kennel and extremely friendly and affectionate. Val is truly a "people's dog" and has yet to meet a stranger!
Val is also dog friendly and is enjoying meeting new friends, big and small! She can bee a bit bossy, but plays very nicely when properly and calmly introduced. She has adorable play bows and tends to mirror other dog's play, so we feel she would do well with another dog(s) who is well-versed in doggie language and communication skills.
She is easy to focus on her handler when she works. Val has medium food drive, but really enjoys the game of working with her person, which is increasing that drive. Her toy drive is high and her tug drive is very high. Val really enjoys chasing (and catching sometimes) frisbees, and is learning what a nice game of fetch is all about. She would make a great sport dog and could excel at disc, agility, etc. She would also make one heck of a companion for an active person or family. A tired Val is a happy Val.
Val settles in her kennel nicely and curls up like a little package when she is sleeping. She really is a great little sporty girl and we are really enjoying getting to know her. Val is currently working on some foundational sport dog skills along with her basic obedience with the trainers at Found Training Center. Her adoption fee comes with a free group training class at Found, but is not required for her adoption. Videos of her training is available upon request.
