My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Two Beautiful black and white domestic shorthair cats - brother and sister. Surrendered by the original owner after 11 years to Carthage Humane Society (reason for giving them up - reportedly too costly to keep them)- they were separated and terrified at the shelter.
At A time when there was the usual proliferation of fuzzy active kittens and a shelter overflowing with younger more outgoing cats, these cats (devoted companions to someone for 11 years) faced certain euthanasia.
Spare Cat Rescue members are currently fostering the pair and in a home setting, these are loving, quiet cats who truly deserve to find a home.

Tazz, the male, (he has the black nose) is the more outgoing of the two. He love attention and rolling over to have his stomach scratched. He comes bounding out from wherever he is when his foster parents come home.

Tink - the female is a little more withdrawn, a little more suspicious. In the shelter she hid in the rear of the cage, facing the metal back (we weren't even sure there was a cat in the cage initially) - she wouldn't look out at people passing by or make any eye contact at all. Her body language told it all. It took about 3-4 days in a home setting before she felt safe to venture out from her hiding place, but she has revealed herself to be a beautiful little lady. She is quiet, tends to be timid and frightened of new things, but adjusts and while she is hesitant at times to initiate contact, she loves to have attention give to her. Both have beautiful Green Eyes.

These are gorgeous cats who have obviously been given care in their original home- We feel that they deserve the spend their remaining years in a setting where they are cared about. We really would like these two wonderful cats to go to the same home, if at all possible. They came from a home with at least one additional cat- we are unsure how tolerant they are of dogs. They have all their shots and have been dewormed.
