Soulful eyes will gaze into yours as she gently nuzzles your hand for a bit more petting. Isabella, an 8 year old Great Pyr girl, spends most of her time quietly kicking back. Mid-day there is usually a short burst of playful energy. She loves her tennis ball. Isabella is housebroken. If you don't notice her standing at the door to go out, she will let you know via whine or bark.
She is great riding in the car; gets in easily and does not bolt out when you open the door. BUT she does not like cars that are driving by..she lunges and loudly barks at passing vehicles. A home with a chain-link fence near the street is not a good idea, but she does need a home with a fenced yard (not invisible/electric fence). A walk or two a day would be perfect for her. Be warned that all the smells make her drool, so be sure to take a small towel. If she starts to pull, a gentle tug usually works. She can be stubborn if she finds a smell that she just can't resist. She sometimes lunges at cars, so be careful.
Isabella is a very sensitive girl. She scares easily, but with patience she can be desensitized, thus decreasing any anxiety. For example: the sound of velcro sent her running. She knows several commands…sit, down, and we are working on stay. Isabella weighs about 70 lbs.

We do our best to match families and dogs so everyone is pleased and the placement is permanent. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant if the home situation is incompatible with the needs of the rescue dog. Rescue is about doing our best for the dog. We do home and reference checks. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are up to date with current vaccinations, before being placed in their forever homes.
