Here's what the humans have to say about me:
BLACK JACK is a 1.5-year-old neutered male black lab. Black Jack weighs 47 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.
DESCRIPTION Black Jack is very friendly and likes to get attention. He probably had a rough time before he came to Lab Rescue but still thinks humans are okay. He greets you with his tail wagging and a grin. He hasn't started retrieving yet but if you toss him a toy he will wait a minute until you not looking them pick it up and take it over to play with it. It you go towards him he will drop it and look as if to say "Am I in trouble" If you tell him he's good pup he relaxes. He would lie a home with a family that will give him lots of love and attention and that has a yard for him to play in. He will be a great addition to your family. Good with other dogs, has been out with 5 other Lab Rescue dogs at the kennel. He was in the cat room and was more interested in the cat's food than the cat. Knows sit, come and down. Is crate trained probably house trained as he is keeping his room clean at the kennel.
UPDATE:Black Jack went to a foster home where he came out of his shell, he is acting and playing like a typical young pup. He is living with three other dogs, 4 cats and several tortoises and other critters (his foster is a wildlife rehabber) with no problems though he loves to try play with one of the tortoises who charges after him. His buddy is the resident 6 month old Great Dane pup, which is great for both of them as they wear each other out playing in the yard. He was at a Halloween party last night with 25 people and had a ball greeting everyone and getting lots of attention. He has also volunteered to help out by washing the door windows.
