Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Zeus and Athena are about 6 year old mixed breed dogs (we are guessing but possibly lab/sharpei/other type mixes) that are about 70-75 pounds. They were originally saved from a high kill shelter in Texas about 4 years ago, and they had been there through no fault of their own.
They were adopted into a loving home in Fort Collins shortly after that as they were a bonded brother/sister pair at the time.
However, over the past year or so, Zeus and Athena had a falling out of sorts and no longer get along. After numerous fights with each other (over food, jealousy over owners, and honestly triggers we aren’t even sure of), their owners (who love them both very much) have made the very difficult decision that the dogs would be happiest in separate homes. This difficult decision has come after much thought, after trying to work with them, and consulting with professionals. We all ultimately want what is best for the dogs. Their owners cannot pick between them and so we are posting them in hopes to find the right home for one of the dogs as soon as possible. The current owners will keep whichever one is not adopted.
Both dogs are very loving, loyal, and smart. They are WONDERFUL with people. They love to snuggle and know basic commands. They are house trained, crate trained, eager to please, and food motivated.
They did live with a geriatric cat without issue when they were first adopted.
Both are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, heartworm negative, microchipped, and have received excellent and routine veterinary care. Athena has no known health issues. Zeus has an autoimmune skin condition that is easily managed with inexpensive medication. He does not need to be on it every day but takes it very well when he needs it.
Please inquire if interested. We will be screening adopters to find the best match. Brief application and contract (through the same rescue that helped them 4 years ago), home check, and small adoption fee is required.
