Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Charlie is an approximately 2yr old poodle mix. The evidence of Charlie’s past was left behind in thickly matted hair that revealed a severely underweight pooch underneath. Thankfully this little pup’s spirit wasn’t broken. The vet says that he is very healthy. Everyone who meets him falls in love and comments on what a happy & sweet guy he is.
Charlie is smart as can be and learns expectations quickly. He comes when called, is crate trained, potty trained and dances on his hind legs when he is excited. He is equally as happy sitting on the couch snuggling as he is playing with the kids. He is super clever and when left to his own devices, can figure out how to move & open his crate. He walks well on a leash. Charlie does well at both the vet & the groomer and will need someone who will ensure that he is brushed & groomed when necessary to avoid matting.
Charlie would do well in a house with or without kids, with lots of snuggles. He is not a barker, but will let us know when the doorbell has been rung; just in case we hadn't heard it. His furever home has to have someone to ensure he doesn’t sneak out of the house when guests are welcomed. If his furever home has a yard, it will need to be examined for areas he can sneak through the fence. He would do well in an apartment or house. He has not been tested with cats, but I do not foresee that as an issue. He does not seem to be curious about the birds or squirrels in the yard.
An adoption fee of $250 includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, flea and heartworm preventatives if appropriate, and all medical costs while in our care.
Charlie will officially be available for adoption after he is neutered however we are currently accepting and reviewing applications. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please email Familyadditiondogrescue@gmail.com to request an application.
