What is your name? Buddy.

How old are you? 8 years old.

How much do you weigh? About 20 lbs.

What do you look like? A miniature yellow Labrador mixed in with Chihuahua

What do you like to eat? Not very picky, but learned to like bbq at my foster moms.

What kind of personality do you have? I am pretty laid back. I like to snuggle on the couch with my humans most of the time.

Describe your perfect day: Waking up from my heated dog bed then sit with my human while they have coffee, head out my doggie door to the yard, then wait patiently on the couch for my humans to come home. Maybe a bit of playtime here and there.

What is your favorite toy? My soft plush stuffed animal, I have had it all my life!

Do you know any tricks? I can stay and sit when you tell me. I also know how to look cute to get you to hug me and kiss my face, neat one huh?

What scares you? I do not like loud voices or getting into trouble!

Have you been around children? Do you like them? Not into little tiny humans, but teens are definitely ok.

Have you been around cats? Cats run when you chase them, I try to ignore them, but it is hard because it is fun to chase them, but I would probably be scared if I got too close and they scratched me.

How do you feel about other dogs? I LOVE other dogs. Sometimes I get overexcited meeting them, but eventually I calm down. I never had a doggie brother or sister until now, so I get so excited!

If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be? The couch is my spot unless I get to be your shadow and follow you around or sleep in bed. I enjoy the simple things!

How is your health? Good! My foster parents have a tall bed so I can get a little achy if I jump up and down a lot.

Who do you live with your foster home and who is your closest companion? I have 2 foster humans, 2 foster Chihuahua-pug sisters, 2 cats, 3 chickens and 2 ducks. My closest companion is Gee Gee the lead foster sister. We travel all around the house and yard checking out the chickens and ducks. The cats stay away from me in a fenced off room. I do not try to find them, but if they walk by, I chase them.

Where do you hang out when you are home alone? Inside the house. I love to sleep on my dog bed or on the couch with my sisters while I wait for the humans to come home. I can tolerate a crate but it is not my favorite thing and I am not destructive.

Where do you sleep? Sometimes on the heated blanket on the couch, but mostly in my dog bed with a heated blanket on the floor of the living room. My foster sisters sleep in the other room at night with my foster humans and sometimes they sleep on the couch with me. However, I am ok sleeping alone out in the other room.

Do you like walking on a leash? Yes, yes yes! Once I get used to you and feel safe, I also like car rides. Let’s go somewhere!

Do you have any "not-so-great" habits that we should know about? For instance, do you bark or dig in the yard? My foster sibs taught me how to bark a little but my bark is soft. Other than that I can be impatient for treats. I am very good overall!

Are you house trained? (Meaning do you go potty outside) I do my business outside I have a doggie door. In a new home, I may have a couple accidents, which is normal for any new dog. Just takes me awhile to get used to new things.

Do you like water? Hmmm not sure about swimming. I tolerate a bath if I have to.

What do you love about your foster family? They are kind, they tell me I am a good boy, and they gave me foster siblings to play with for the first time in my life. I adore being with them, snuggling, and being part of a family.

What was your life like before NorCal Bully Breed Rescue? I showed up when I was about 1 year old at my daddy’s house. I was his shadow for 7 years after that. We went everywhere together, around the house and in the car. He was an "older" daddy and got very sick a year ago. I slept on the bed with him for many months loving him while he got sicker and sicker. He passed away and I was sad. I still have my daddy’s blanket and I love it. I had a mom too but she got ill also and could not take care of me. I love them but I need to find a new furever family. I cannot wait to meet who that is. You can see more about me on Facebook at YEEHAW MY NAME IS BUDDY

NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread all throughout the Sacramento area. We usually require our adopters to be within a 50 to 100 mile radius of us, depending on the dog, and depending on the home. This is because we need to do a yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. We are, however, willing to adopt out of our area, including the Bay Area, Tahoe, and even further. We've even adopted out of state on very special occasions. We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and range from $200-$350. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary).

Buddy's adoption donation is $200

Interested in meeting Buddy or any of our available pooches? Complete and submit our adoption application on our website norcalbullybreedrescue.com and we will respond to you within 24 to 48 hours.
