Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Adoptions currently on hold during Illinois stay at home order due to coronavirus. Sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Penny is a young female Pyrenees Anatolian mix who came to us early in September extremely emaciated and weak and has spent the last couple of months getting healthy and strong and is very ready for her forever home. She is a smaller girl at about 65 pounds and does have some deformity of her back legs which are twisted with her knee joints inward and her feet pointing outward which gives her an odd gait. We have been advised that corrective surgery really isn't a good option due the twisting of the bones in her back legs and we agree. This little girl has amazed us. Don't tell Penny that there is something wrong with her legs because she has no idea. She runs, jumps, plays, does stairs and does not indicate any pain or discomfort at this time. The only thing she has trouble with are slippery floors. Since her back legs point out they tend to slide outward when on slippery floors. We have her on joint supplements only at this time but realistically she may need medication for arthritis as she gets older if she starts showing any discomfort.
Penny is so full of happiness and joy. She is very people friendly and loves any and all attention. She has done well with some other dogs but if placed with another dog, would need to be matched up with a more laid back male that wouldn't play too rough with her. Not yet tested with kitties. No known history with children due to coming to us as a stray. Fenced yard will be required.
