Momma Buttercup is a 3 year old Husky /Golden Retreiver X. We were told her Dad was a purebred husky and her Mom a purebred golden - we always take the info with a grain of salt - but a family that adopted one of her pups had the pups DNA tested and it was confirmed. Momma was rescued with her 9 puppies from KY. She spent her life at the end of a chain in a fenced in area ( last picture). She has come a long way since coming into her foster home. She learned and has adapted wonderfully to living inside. Momma has alot of her Dad 's Husky personality.She is very energetic - she loves to run and pace her fenced yard. Her foster parents are still working with her on the jumping - she tries -- but she just gets soooo excited to see anyone and other dogs! Momma does get excited when seeing other dogs - she can be overwhelming to them at first. She currently lives with a 2.5 and 7 year old fur- foster sisters. She plays mostly with the 2.5 year old since the 8 year old does not show much interest. She can sometimes be annoying to them but they let her know when they have had enough - slow introductions are best. Momma will need some help with her leash skills - she like to pull and keeps her nose to the ground in unfamiliar places. Due to her energy level and the fact that she spent her whole life on a chain - Momma will need a home with a fenced yard ( not electric ). We do not believe electric would deter this girl if she saw something outside of her boundaries, and she has been on the end of a rope enough in her life. She doesn't always come when called and can be easily distracted. Momma is a love - she LOVES human affection.. There is not a mean bone in her body and has not shown any aggression since she arrive 2 months ago. An active family that could help socilaize her outside her "comfort" zone ( hikes, walks, etc) would be wonderful for this girl.
Momma is current on all vaccines, HW neg, on HW flea tick preventative, microchipped and spayed. She is house and crate trained. Her adoption fee is $525. For more information or an application email brookesangelsct@gmail.com.
