Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET SHEERA!
From her foster mom: "Sheera is such a funny girl with a big personality! Her three favorite things are sun bathing, napping, and sitting next to you. Sheera likes going on adventures in her little bag & smelling the air. She really comes out of her shell once she knows she's in a safe, loving place. Sheera is pretty quiet but likes making mumbling noises to talk to you. She does a great job of letting you know if she has to go potty (if you're there to take her, she prefers to go outside). Sheera doesn't pay much attention to other dogs but doesn't appreciate them laying on her blankie. Since she walks slowly and carefully, her blindness is no obstacle."
Sheera was pulled from West Valley Humane Society in January 2019. When she joined our rescue, she was extremely frail and we weren’t sure she was going to make it. When she was surrendered to West Valley, it was obvious she had been neglected for many years. She was thin and had a huge tumor in her private area. West Valley was able to remove the tumor, but there is a chance that it will come back. It took a few weeks for Sheera to recover from surgery…emotionally shut down and physically weak. Eventually, she gained strength and has been stable ever since. Sheera is completely blind, but can still hear. She loves to be held and loves to burrow in blankets. She has to be carried outside for potty time. She loves spending time outside on sunny days, a typical sun worshipping Chihuahua. Sheera has very little teeth and can only eat canned food. She also has trouble waiting to go potty outside, which is why she is one of our hospice dogs that relies on pee pads for those times when she can’t wait. Although she spends a great deal of time sleeping, she does enjoy spending time with her foster mom and loves to eat.
Sheera is considered an "Adoptable Hospice dog" and IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. She is maintaining her current health status and we are looking for a special someone to become her forever family for the remainder of her golden years.
If you’re interested in adopting sweet Sheera please email us for an adoption application.
