Pepper is truly a gentle soul. She is calm, quiet and loves attention. She is great with other dogs and kids. She is the best dog on a leash. She was definitely abused as she is very cautious around new people but once she feels comfortable with you she just wants to give you a big hugs all the time. She is not food or dog aggressive and she is potty and kennel trained. She is learning to sit and shake with snacks. Pepper is the younger of the two and has clearly always been with Ginger, if they cannot go the the same home Pepper will need a home with at least one other dog to cuddle. Pepper is just under 50 lbs so she can be classified as a Pocket Pit.
Pepper was found on the streets in New Mexico with Ginger. They were both taken to a shelter, their owner was contacted but he refused to pay to re-claim fees. A local rescue that was full offered to pay the fees so he could get his dogs back but he refused to contact them. They were in the shelter for over a month before the shelter hit capacity and were about to be put down when The Noah James Foundation stepped in and arranged to have them transported to Denver to be placed in a foster home. There they are happy and thriving.
Pepper is heart worm negative, micro-chipped, spayed as of 12/18/19, and up to date on all her shots. She is one half of a bonded pair so a home that can take both girls would be preferred. We will also drop the price to adopt both to $500 total for both girls.
