My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ginger loves to give kisses and cuddle especially with kids. She is a talker and loves to tell you how her day was when you get home. She is full of muscles be a little much for other dogs at first. With some work we have successfully taught Ginger how to play well with other dogs and she is getting more playful every day. We believe Pepper is one of Ginger’s puppies from one of her litter’s while she was with her previous owner. Ginger is not food or dog aggressive but is very food excited. She is potty and kennel trained. Right now she is learning to sit and shake with snacks. Ginger is the older of the bonded pair and very people dependent so we believe she could thrive in a home where she is the only dog getting all of the attention and love. She loves to run and would benefit from someone with an active lifestyle that would be able to be active with her, especially if she is the only dog in the house. In the evening she loves to sit next to a human and cuddle. Despite how large Ginger may look in her pictures she is only slightly over 50 lbs so she can be classified as a Pocket Pit.

Ginger was found on the streets in New Mexico with Pepper. They were both taken to a shelter, their owner was contacted but he refused to pay to re-claim fees. A local rescue that was full offered to pay the fees so he could get his dogs back but he refused to contact them. They were in the shelter for over a month before the shelter hit capacity and were about to be put down when The Noah James Foundation stepped in and arranged to have them transported to Denver to be placed in a foster home. There they are happy and thriving.

Ginger is heart worm negative, micro-chipped, spayed as of 12/19/19, and up to date on all her shots. She is one half of a bonded pair so a home that can take both girls would be preferred. We will also drop the price to adopt both to $500 total for both girls.
