Here's what the humans have to say about me:
See a short video of Houston in action here: https://youtu.be/ttgQ5Xdlmm0
Houston is an approximately 2 to 3 year old kelpie. Houston comes to us as a failed herding dog. He's a lover, not a herder! He is a moderate energy dog that settles nicely in the house or in his crate at the end of the day.
This is a gentle and sweet dog that weighs about 45 pounds and has a large frame. He is crate trained and knows how to use a dog door. We are working on house manners. This is something that his new family will need to continue working on. He LOVES being in the house with his people.
He gets along with other dogs and LOVES playing with them. He sometimes plays a little rough and needs to be reminded to take it down a notch. He seems okay with cats, but will chase if they run. He has never hurt a cat. Definitely no chickens for this boy!
Houston is timid with new people at first. We feel that maybe his previous owner was a little heavy handed with him. He comes around quickly, though.
Houston's adoption fee is $250 and includes neuter, microchip, vaccinations, collar and ID tag. After completing an application located here:
