My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Vulcan is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH), male, DOB: 6/6/19.

An adorable and adoring snuggle-ball of sleek sweetness, Vulcan is all heart and personality. A fearless, sometimes curiously brash young cat, he thoroughly enjoys ruff-n-tumble playtime with other felines -- whether big cats or kittens and just about anything in between, he’ll be seeking them out with invitations to join him in cute play antics.

Equally content to play and conquer new feats all on his own too, Vulcan has an adventurer’s spirit and enjoys independently prowling and stalking shadows, dust bunnies, toys, and sometimes other cats – fair game, whatever is available; he’ll also be looking for and inviting some vigorous interactive playtime with his people.

In addition to being a curious, delightfully charming and rambunctiously playful young cat, Vulcan surely doesn’t mind being the center of attention and receiving much-appreciated affection. Extremely loving and affectionate, this young guy is perfectly comfortable being held (when there isn't adventuring to do); he will often jump into the arms of his favorite people and indicate his appreciation with sweet, steady purring. Entirely engaging, brimming with enthusiasm, confident and courageous, he is, most of all, an extremely social and friendly young cat - easy-to-please and pretty much just happy-happy-happy!

Vulcan, just like foster siblings, Boppity and Po’pua, as well as so many of our kittens, came to Monroe SPCA because of being sick and malnourished, a tiny kitten, barely more than an infant, found outdoors and thought to be recently orphaned. Not able to eat entirely on his own, he required bottle and syringe feeding early on and has been treated for a URI, Giardia, Coccidia, fleas, and Roundworm while with us.

Now a healthy, happy feline, Vulcan is looking for a forever family who can give him the time and attention a young cat needs so he can continue to blossom into the confident, sweet, and boisterous cat he's surely going to be.

Vulcan is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a moderately-active lifestyle. He likes and gets along well with other compatible cats, and he’s comfortable in the presence of well-mannered, cat-friendly dogs and respectful children of any age. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable cats and kittens, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.

Vulcan currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store. You can meet him by appointment with approved adoption application; closed Sunday, Monday, and National Holidays. To start the adoption process for Vulcan, complete and submit Monroe SPCA’s adoption application linked above.

All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption.

Completed applications can be emailed to info@monroespca.org or dropped off at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store located at 293 W. Monroe Street, Dundee, MI.
