Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, I’m Maxx. I’ve never known a day without love. That’s right, I’m not like a lot of dogs who come into rescue, discarded and unwanted. All four years of my life I’ve had a wonderful owner who loved me with all her heart. But sadly, she became ill and needs special treatment. She’s made sure I would be treasured and cared for the rest of my life.
That’s been true in my foster home. My foster parents made my transition as easy as possible and I picked up right where I left off. You see, I love people. And I love other dogs and I even lived with cats at one point. I haven’t lived with children but I’m pretty sure I would love them, too.
One of my favorite things to do is go to the dog park. I have this special ability to get along with dogs big and small. I can run really fast and wrestle with them, or I can be gentle and careful. I’d really like to have a doggy friend in my new home.
I love going for walks and I walk well on a leash. I like toys and can entertain myself by tossing them in the air. I like car rides, too. I’m pretty sure I would like ice cream but feel free to test me out on that one. 😉 Oh, and I am a champion snuggler.
I like to play fetch with whatever you throw for me. And when I’m busy playing at the park, if you just call my name once I’ll come running back to you. I know all my basic commands and some tricks. I can high five with my right paw and my left paw. I can’t sit, wait, come, lay down and roll over.
I get pretty attached to my human. I would love it if someone was with me a lot during the day, but I do ok in my kennel.
I am four years old, 54 pounds, neutered, housetrained, up-to-date on my vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative and on monthly preventatives.
I am being fostered in the Kansas City area. People who know me think I’m pretty much perfect, don’t you agree? I’m ready to find my forever family... could it be you?

I’ll be waiting. Love,
Maxx
