Here's what the humans have to say about me:
When Sam found me she just looked sad!
She had bald spots, infected ears (that are cropped too short and look like an elf), had about a hundred ticks, was on a choke collar that was digging into her neck to the point it was causing sores, wasn't fixed or updated on shots though from what I can tell lived outside around other dogs who judging from her food agression and the bites on her face weren't the most friendly to her, she was scared of almost everyone and everything she ran into.
Well welcome to the new Sam! She is 3 years old, about 130#. She looks beautiful (though still resembles an elf)! Within a week she was spayed , updated on shots, treated for the ear infection, bathed and wormed. With that and regular feeding her coat started filling in and with the ticks gone she's truely looking like a different dog.
To me looking like one is just the begining. With patience she's been doing great with the cats and my niece, nephew, mom and sister and their little barking dog. Not bad for a dog who started off scared enough to growl at everyone but me. I am thankful for mail carriers, a/c repair men, and others who'll take the time to visit a very large dog who desperately needed to see that not everyone is bad.
Sam has turned into the most wonderful, happy, outgoing girl who loves going for a runs around the yard twice a day, plays fetch, LOVES car rides, grooms my cats, and gives them kisses (not their idea of a great thing but they lick her too), She's up to date on her shots, fixed, housebroken, uses a dog door, is good in the house while I work all day, isn't showing the food agression anymore though can still worry too much about her bones on occation, has met and befriended other foster dogs, is enjoying meeting new people, and just glad to have a good life!
I don't trust her out with the chickens and she's more lively than my older great dane would like when they play outside but if we add in a game of fetch it levels out their play and she really enjoys having another dog around. She still steps on my feet sometimes but she's getting better about that too. Those are truely pretty easy traits to deal with.
I'll be looking for a very special home for this lady. She deserves the best! Do you think that may be you?
