Our boy ROGER is ready to find his forever home with a very unique family!
From the moment we saw Roger, we knew he was something special. He came into rescue as a stray with lumps and bumps the likes we’d never seen before -- so many of them that we had to stop counting. They’re typical fatty tumors that many labs get – Roger just happens to have more of them, a LOT more of them. But that’s ok – it just means there’s more of him to love! Roger is estimated to be about 12 or 13 years old, but you’d never know it. He can still keep up with his younger foster dog siblings, but he’s wise enough to know his limits. Despite his lumps, a Lyme diagnosis (which we treated) and a mild case of lar par, Roger has the sweetest demeanor – he’s a distinguished gentleman just grateful to hang with his people! Roger likes to fetch and play and go for rambling walks. He loves other dogs and getting pets and belly rubs. He won’t snub a doggie snack if offered and he LOVES a little quiet time lounging around on the bed or couch. He does have his playful side: Squeaky balls are his absolute FAVORITE! And ooh la la, his face – so much wisdom in his graying muzzle.
In preparation for his going up for adoption, we consulted with the U of M on the best course for his health. Based on everything they heard and saw, they agreed Roger is doing well, he isn’t in pain, the masses don’t slow him down and he’s quite comfortable even with all his extra “stuffing.” While some may look past Roger due to his appearance, we think he’s perfect just the way he is – both inside and out. In fact, being with Roger is like being with a superstar – get ready for everyone to tell you how handsome he is!
This sweet boy deserves a very special home with a very special family! Someone is out there who needs a buddy and this guy fits the bill, and then some! Apply today to meet him!
