HEY, Y'ALL COWBOYS AND COWGIRLS, the name’s JACE, here. I’m a Heeler Mix. I was born about February/2015 and I weigh about 45 pounds; just right for my 4 years.

My master passed away and I was left alone to fend for myself. I got really hungry but a kind butcher fed me scraps.

The city put a leash law into effect and a kind lady worried about me that I might get hit by a car. She contacted Lucie’s Project. Boy was I glad too. I didn’t care for the roaming thing, eating scraps, and having no Forever Home with a kind people buddy to care for me. Hey y’all, I’m a good watchdog too.

When the Lucie’s rescued me, I was scared; didn’t know if I could trust them, especially young boys who didn’t treat me kindly. Well, some young Cadets came to the Park and showed me lots of love and friendship. Even though I’m still a bit cautious, I’ve learned to trust again. The folks at Lucie’s use me to test other dogs for “male friendliness.” I’m dog friendly too, lying around with my sixteen dog buddies. When I get a notion, I take off running with the other dogs running with me. Hey, I don’t know why, but I don’t like swimming. FYI - I’m leash and crate trained too.
