My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

During the state mandated shelter-in-place order BACS has transitioned to virtual, socially-distanced adoptions.
If you have an interest in a particular BACS animal, please email KSwanson@cityofberkeley.info. The first step will be to set up a virtual meeting with their current foster family via phone, zoom, or facetime, to provide you with more detailed information about the animal. Following that, if you feel like it could be a good adoption fit, shelter staff will help coordinate a socially-distanced meeting in person so that you can meet your potential family member up-close and personal. Thank you for your patience during this time. We really appreciate your support!

FOSTER CARE: Old Man Charly is in foster and not housed at the shelter. Call or message Berkeley Animal Care Services to arrange a meet and greet.

Charly’s foster mother said "You really can't say enough good things about Charly! He's maybe the sweetest dog ever. He has a happy-go-lucky disposition and always brings a smile to your face.

Charly is about 10 years old, which is youngish for a Chihuahua/Beagle mix (ok, it's at least not too old!). He LOVES people, is good with other dogs, cats, and just wants a loving home.

He's housebroken and crate trained.

Charly has a limp from a previous injury (the cause is unknown) but likes to go on short walks so he's perfect for a home that doesn't want an overly active dog. On top of that, he's very quiet and always looking on the sunny side of life!"
