Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lacy is so ugly she's cute! She is white with spiky thin hair and weighs about 4lbs. She has kind and thoughtful eyes, which seem to be saying how much she appreciates that she is now safe. We're unsure of her age, but she seems to be about a year old.
Lacy came from a central valley shelter injured. They 'think' she was hit by a car, but it appears more likely a case of abuse. She had a broken tail which has been partially amputated, but when her hair grows back you probably won't even notice the half gone tail. She also had a pelvic injury, a wound on her hip, and a head trauma.
Even though her physical wounds have healed, her emotional wounds still exist. She will need a patient, gentle and loving owner who will handle her slowly with great thoughtfulness. It appears that Lacy was held a lot or carried by a human and she feels comfortable being held. But she needs socialization with new people and pets so she can regain her self esteem and confidence. It will take time and patience. She is already making progress in her foster home.
Lacy will need an adopter who has no other pets, or a pet who is quiet and not interested in playing with her. She started out being afraid of absolutely everything, but is now doing better in calmer moments. Pets, noise, people, and other dogs get her on her guard. She shows the most signs of fear with young adult boys.
Lacy is spayed, microchipped, and current on her vaccines. If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting this sweet little girl, please go to our website www.k9bestfriendsforever.com and click on "Adopt" to fill out an adoption application.
