Meet Dobbers P. Wentworth!
Looking for personality, kisses and the cutest boy ever? Then Dobbers is your guy! We are absolutely smitten with this little fellow who is a 3 month old mix of Shih Tzu and Yorkie with this super soft, hypoallergenic non-shedding coat. He is currently black with silver with some shades of brown but more than likely his coat will change colors as he grows up.
Dobbers came from a ranch in Buttonwillow, CA from a family that was rather careless with their dogs mating (Mom a purebred Shih Tzu and Dad a Yorkie). Dobbers was the last puppy left so we took him and found not only was he totally scared of people but was full of fleas and worms. He was super hand shy in the beginning so we are not certain if it was just lack of socialization or if he was ever hit but now he LOVES to be pet and kissed and cuddled and roughhoused with!
Dobbers ADORES other dogs AND cats! One of his best friends in his foster home is a little 7 pound cat named Elektra who plays with him like a puppy. He is also with 3 German Shepherds and 3 smaller dogs and tries to get everyone to play with him. He is super bright...already understands the concept of housebreaking and is doing a great job quickly. He sleeps through the night in bed with his foster mom and goes outside with all the big dogs first thing when he wakes up.
Dobbers adoption fee includes the following:
1. His neuter ( When he is of age to be neutered)
2. Current vaccinations
3. Deworming
4. Microchip
5. Flea and tick treatment
6. Starter food with separate colostrum supplement for healthy puppies
7. Harness and leash
8. Bed
An adoption fee does apply.
As we prescreen via email ONLY (we do not make or accept phone calls in the pre-screening phase) please tell us a bit about you such as:

Some notes to consider before applying for Dobbers:
1. Dobbers is a mix of Shih Tzu and Yorkie so he will need to be groomed about every 6 weeks to keep his coat from ever getting matted.
2. Dobbers is a 12 week old puppy so please make sure everyone is on board with the needs of a puppy who is learning to be the perfect canine citizen.
3. Please make sure you are ready to adopt before coming to see our adoptable dogs. We are a foster based rescue and do not have the space to hold dogs for a couple of weeks while you vacation or make your way to California to come and adopt. We will adopt out of state but ONLY if the potential adopter comes here to adopt in person and that is after a screening by Skype. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS EVER.
4. We are often inundated with emails about our adoptable dogs and try as we might to make everyone happy it is nearly impossible with only one dog and sometimes up to 50 potential families. The more information you provide in your email to us the quicker we will get back to you. If you have written to us before about a particular dog and did not receive a response please do try again. Every dog has different home requirements that we search for so sometimes you are the right fit for the dog we are trying to place. It is never personal. We are always searching to create the best fit between pup and human!!
