Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Odie! Are you looking for your best buddy? Please read the complete bio and apply online at: www.hearts4doxiesrescue.org (a cellphone is not compatible with the website). Must be 25 years and older to apply.
Odie is an adorable, fun, playful & energetic young boy who brings many smiles. He enjoys playing and going on walks with other dogs his size or smaller and yes, he accepts your feline friend too! Odie takes time to warm up but once he knows that human intentions are loving, gentle and trustworthy, he is your best friend! A home with breed specific knowledge and positive force free training experience is desired. He bonds quicker to females than males however, building his confidence & trust with gentleness and patience gives Odie the right tools. His past life was not kind - he was left alone for many hours, not socialized and ultimately surrendered to a shelter. Odie's foster home have shown him that love is patient, kind, understanding and unconditional.
Odie is potty and leash trained, knows a few basic commands, loves to sleep in the big bed, enjoys car rides and adventurous walks. He is treat motivated and wants to please his humans. Odie has been around children that are responsible, respectful and dog savvy (recommended age: 12 and older).
Odie currently eats a high quality kibble to maintain his healthy skin & coat and should remain on the same diet. He also benefits from a joint supplement and keeping his weight ideal keeps his back safe.
His best life includes:
- Single home dwelling
- Fully fenced yard
- Dog companionship (prefers his size or smaller, same age, same energy/activity)
- Home full-time, works from home or part-time work hours (4 hours minimum)
- Active, enjoys the outdoors, trail walks, hikes are Odie's favorite -neighborhood walks are okay but his energy level requires more
- Quite lifestyle
Odie is located in Ocean Park, WA. Meet and greets will be schedule in close proximity of his foster home and when the application and home visit are approved.
