Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tuffy is a purebred 2 yr old shih tzu whose name doesn't exactly suit him. He actually came to us with the name "Killer", so we lightened that up quite a bit... and thus he became "Not So"Tuffy. He is ready to have a happy doggie life and make some lucky family very happy. He is a snuggle bug who just loves to be spoiled. He's great in the car, sticks right around you off-leash in the yard, and enjoys having all the attention, so we feel he'd be happiest as the only dog in the house.
Tuffy is doing great with housetraining, and hasn't had any accidents for the last couple of weeks. He'll need to be taken outdoors a lot - small dog, small bladder - but he's got the hang of outdoor potty! He's a little dog with a lot of personality -- he likes swimming, running at the beach, and going for walks with his foster mom. He gets along with cats and the foster's golden retriever. Tuffy likes to tag along with you wherever you might go, and enjoys trips in the car and finding new places to explore. At night, he enjoys cuddling on the sofa or your bed. Because Tuffy is so personable, he'd like a home where someone will be around during the day. He can be left alone without problems, but he's happiest when he's part of the family.

Potential adopters interested in meeting Tuffy should complete our adoption application. Applications will be emailed upon request to
onetail@comcast.net
All dogs listed on our website are here in foster homes unless specifically stated on the dog's listing. Tuffy is ready to meet his new family. Please see our main web page for info about our adoption process and what's included. We like to keep our adoptions local; we do not ship our dogs. We prefer adopters in NH and MA. Adult small dog adoption fee $375.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DO NOT SUBMIT AN APPLICATION unless you are ready to take this dog home. We cannot hold dogs while you go on vacation or a business trip or prepare your home. Our dogs are being cared for in private homes by volunteer foster families. Appointments to see our dogs are scheduled once an application has been submitted and approved by our adoption counselors.
** PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee breed or full-grown adult size of all our rescue dogs. Because these dogs are rescued from shelters, we do not know exact background and only list breed and size by our best knowledge. If exact breed and size are important to you, please look elsewhere. We want our dogs to be adopted by people who will love and care for them forever - no matter what breed and size they turn out to be! **
Tuffy is up-to-date with routine shots, microchipped, and neutered.
