Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Cocoa Puff is a 3.5-year-old neutered male chocolate lab. Cocoa Puff weighs 105 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.
DESCRIPTION:
UPDATE: September 22, 2019: Cocoa Puff is a super sweet and mellow guy. He gets along well with the resident labs, but does not have any interest in playing with them. The 4-year-old resident lab tried relentlessly to entice Cocoa into a game of chase, but he is just not having it. Cocoa is interested in the tennis ball, but only to hold onto it, not to play fetch. He loves being outside and will just lay at your feet enjoying the weather. In fact, Cocoa seems to prefer the company of humans. He is always looking to see what the humans are doing and wants to be in the same room. He will sit at his foster mom' feet while she is working on the computer and he has taken a liking to his foster dad.
Cocoa rode well in the car, but does need help getting in - possibly due to his weight or that cars are new to him. He walks well on the leash, no harness required. He is pretty chill, but is is possible that his energy level may increase as the extra weight comes off:) Cocoa has not been crated at his foster's home, and he has not gotten into anything that he should not. He does not appear to be crate-trained or know any basic commands. He is working on house-training. Cocoa will bark occasionally if he hears a noise or if the resident dogs are barking. He is not scared of loud noises or the vacuum.
Sep 20, 2019: Foster Cocoa Puff is settling in nicely. He enjoys sitting outside and keeping watch over what the humans are doing. He gets along well with other dogs, but does not seem interested in too much play at this point. He could not be any sweeter!
Sep 19, 2019: This 100 pound ball of sweet is available for adoption again. He took exception to being crated and busted out. They did not feel comfortable leaving a new dog alone uncrated while they were at work. He is now in a foster home where the foster will work on crating as well as finding out if he even needs to be crated. Stay tuned for updates!
Sept 7, 2019: Cocoa Puff is a sweet boy. He is good with other dogs. He was kenneled with another dog at the shelter. We don't know how Cocoa Puff is with cats. There's no kid history for Cocoa Puff, so he's approved for kids ages 10 and up.
From transporter: Cocoa Puff is a big boy with lots of love to give. He is very friendly and curious and likes to give kisses. He is strong on lead, so an easy walk harness will be good for him. Cocoa Puff didn't know how to jump into the SUV, so he had to be lifted into it. He started in the back of the SUV but then came up front and looked out the window. Then he eventually went back to the back to lie down.
