From abandonment at a county park to over 6 weeks of C.L.A.S.S. (Canine Life and Social Skills) training at the Clarinda Correctional Facility, Skye is now ready for his next adventure -- a new forever home. He passed his testing with EXCELLENT scores. His trainer thinks he is a Chinook mix, we think a Husky mix but no matter what breed – Skye is a peach!! He loves toys and friend playtime, especially with dogs his size. He is a little much for the smaller dogs, so appropriate introductions to new playmates are necessary. He is very food motivated and loves to learn new things. Skye is a little timid around new surroundings and items, but quickly gets over his fears.
He has been trained to bow (training word – Curtsy), not to be confused with down and may be the most polite dog you have ever met!!
According to the trainer, Skye’s mission in life is to figure out exactly how to please you. He is highly trainable and intelligent.
Skye needs an active person or family, but he does love his couch time so he won’t wear you out. All he really wants is someone to love and take care of him.
Skye has been neutered, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and heartworm negative. He is around 2 years old and currently weighs around 70 pounds. His adoption fee is $175 with an approved adoption application which can be found online at www.adoptourdogs.com.
