Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sunday is about 7 months and is a lab/hound mix, I am pretty sure there is also some red heeler in her based on energy levels and the freckles on her face and legs. She’s about 35lbs of coiled energy. She is crate trained, she will cry for a bit but settles down quickly especially if you give her a bone. She continues to work hard on house-breaking.
It is really hard to convey in words how awesome a dog she is, but I will try my best.
Sunday loves to wrestle with other dogs, kids, and adults. She also adores walks and gets walked about 5 miles a day. She would do great with a fenced yard where she could run free with her family. She loves kids, men, women, basically everyone she meets. She would probably be best in an active home with kids about 7yrs and up because she is a jumper.
Sunday is funny and curious. Her curiosity can get her into trouble sometimes as she did get beaten up by a frog and almost fell into a ditch trying to chase a squirrel. She makes us laugh every day, usually multiple times a day.
Sunday isn’t a cuddlebug, she has way too much energy for that. However, even though she doesn’t want to cuddle she does want to be with her people or other dogs as much as possible so an adopter who works from home or a household where one person is a stay at home parent would be awesome for her.
Sunday is a people pleaser so while she isn’t housebroke and is working on learning sit, stay, come, etc she would love to go to obedience school with you and would quickly become the star pupil.
Sunday lives with a foster family consisting of two adults who she loves and two dogs whom she adores. She settled in quickly with the resident dogs and is learning manners from her foster brother and wrestling moves from her foster sister. There is also a parrot in her foster home and Sunday thinks he’s scary because he is loud and has a bolt cutter on his face. Her foster father says that’s a sign that Sunday is highly intelligent.
Currently she does sleep through the night but she gets up with the sun. She loves bones, balls, and stuffed toys. Her favorite game is “How fast can I empty the toy box”. Seriously, get her a small wooden crate, fill it with toys, and just sit back and watch the show, it’s hilarious.
