My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Athena is a gorgeous and athletic pit mix with a sad history of neglect. Up until the time she was rescued, she spent much of her life in a cement basement with little interaction with people or the outside world. But, thank goodness, that time is over for her.
Athena is now living in a foster home with one other dog. She is proving that she is indeed nicely potty trained (Zero accidents so far!) and she kennels each evening and sleeps all night long very quietly in her kennel in my bedroom. She also has spent the odd hour or two in her kennel during the day when I had errands to run and she did just fine. She whined but didn't pitch a fit and destroy her bedding or the kennel or anything like that. She is also learning how to mind her manners in a house (No putting your paws on the counter or getting into trash cans!) and she corrects her behavior quickly when told to stop. In fact, she has been a pleasant addition to our home and we are constantly surprised at how quickly she is learning how to be a member of the family.
Since she has been with me I have learned that Athena loves to snuggle on the couch, loves to be under the blanket (head and all) and she really loves toys. I would say she is more toy motivated then food motivated. She loves stuffed animals and rope toys. She plays fetch, kinda...she forgets the part where she's supposed to drop the toy she's just fetched. Athena is going to make someone a wonderful pet and we are always going to be happy about the time we've gotten to spend with her.
Athena is up to date with vaccinations, heartworm negative and current on preventative and spayed.
