Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Monty is a beautiful very young male cat who wandered up to someone's home. He was starving and very emaciated, covered in wounds and had multiple parasites. He has come so far!!! He is now plump, healthy, and gorgeous!!!
Monty is great for someone who wants a "working cat" to help protect the outside from mice, etc. Although he would technically be a great barn cat, he makes a pretty great "porch cat" too.
He has been neutered with a left ear tip, dewormed, tested negative for FeLV, FIV and heartworms, had Bravecto applied for fleas and ticks, was treated with antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection. He has doubled in size.
Monty has never once left the porch since he arrived unless he is frightened, then he scoots under the mobile home. He must be an outside cat initially. He was very fearful when he first arrived, but now he loves human interaction and stares into the window at feeding time. Monty was too unsocialized initially to be an inside cat but with time he may transition to an indoor-outdoor cat. So far he has gotten along with one of the three resident cats, a female. He is less friendly with the males, but this may improve over time after the neuter takes effect. Monty loves to be petted and purrs, and likes being held; he rolls over and loves to be petted. However, he has a tendency occasionally to get grumpy when you stop petting him, and sometimes still shows mild food aggression from his initial starving condition. Best guidelines are not to "overpet" him, and to avoid petting him around the food bowl. He would not do super well inside the adoption cages so he needs to be adopted directly. This is a beautiful intelligent young cat who would make an outstanding barn cat or shop cat!
