Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet our new little lady, Helen! She appears to be some type of Australian Shepherd/cattle dog mixed girl, she is about ten weeks, and she is DEAF! Her eyes appear smaller than I feel like they should be, but we definitely know she can see! If her sight is effected at all, she sure doesn’t let on. Sweet Helen came to us after being adopted and returned at another shelter three times! That’s a lot of times for such a young, little lady! Our bet is that people fell in love with her super cute looks without doing any research on deaf animal care. As you can imagine, Helen here will require a bit more training than the average pup; but she appears to be quite a smart and attentive little pup! She lovessss treats and food in general, which will definitely help with training. In the right home we have no doubt she will thrive and do great! While looking for her perfect family, we will certainly be working on training with her ourselves. Helen is a typical puppy in all other regards; loves people, playing, food, and snuggles! Oh and it would appear she loves water, as we found her sleeping in a puddle next to her tipped over water bowl. Helen is not lacking in cuteness and personality, that’s for sure!!!
If you have deaf dog experience or are willing to do the training and research it takes to properly care for a sweetie like Helen, then you just might be the perfect family for her!
Helen is a foster pup through Saving GRACE and her adoption fee is $150. Helen is spayed, chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and more. All she needs now is the right family willing to open up their home and heart to such a sweet little thang!
