My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mia is a 6 year old White German Shepherd mix, who has been waiting for a forever home for a long time. She was found as a stray in Greece and rescued by a very kind woman who has been taking care of her in a private shelter since she found her. We don't know why Mia was abandoned, but it's likely she was inconvenient or just unwanted. How sad! She is such a friendly dog and we feel she deserves to spend her remaining years in a very loving home. No children under 8 please. A fenced yard would be wonderful.

FOSTER TO ADOPT

At PAWs, our ability to rescue is constrained by available foster homes. Because of this, we suggest “Foster to Adopt” (FTA). FTA may start as a regular application where you apply for a dog that you like. If we are unable to find a foster (resulting in dog not coming into rescue) we may ask you to consider FTA. The screening process is the same as as it would be for adoption.

If you agree to FTA, you will meet your dog when they first arrive in Canada, as you would ideally pick up the dog at the airport! We hold applications from other potential adopters for about a week until you decide whether or not you want to adopt. If you do, we will finalize payment and paperwork. If it is not a good fit for whatever reason, you would agree to foster the dog until we find the right match. We would also continue to look for the perfect dog for you!
