Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Maeve is a approximately 3 year old blue female with natural ears who came to rescue from a shelter after being found as a stray. Maeve looks to have been on her own for quite some time given her physical appearance. She is emaciated and has some medical issues. Given all she has been thru she is the sweetest girl and is loving the indoor life. She is learning how comfy a couch can be and loves attention from her foster Mom. Maeve will be on Medical Hold for quite some time while we learn more about her and until we can get her medically cleared and put on some badly needed weight. Maeve came to MAGDRL in July 2019. (5)
Update 8/13/19
The Marvelous Ms. Maeve is a funny girl who loves to play with soft toys and enjoys throwing them air and catching them. She also enjoys running around the yard at high speeds. Her long legs don't always match what her brain tells her and it's a belly laughing moment to watch her let loose. Maeve isn't accustomed to living in a house and does need time and patience to learn the ropes. She also needs someone who will be firm with boundaries and training. Maeve will have a training addendum as a requirement of her adoption to ensure she continues to learn proper manners. As Maeve was found as a stray, we have no info on her previous life. She is still a work in progress with housebreaking but is making progress.
Maeve loves human attention and no clue what personal space is. However, one look in to her soulful gray eyes and you'll be hooked. Maeve clearly loves people and would thrive in a home where she isn't left alone frequently, at least until she is more trusting that she won't be abandoned. Saying Maeve loves food is an understatement, as she came in emaciated, this girl will eat anything. Breakfast and Dinner are her favorite times of day. Maeve would do best in a home with no other dogs, at least until she is more settled. She may do well in a home with her same activity level, as Maeve can be overwhelming for submissive or older dogs.
Maeve still has some health issues we are working thru as well as a much needed dental and spay but is well on her way to recovery and being ready for her forever home. I am sure once she gets her dental, she will have the teeth of a 3 year old.
Update 9/10/19
Maeve is healthy enough that she was able to be spayed and have her dental and now has gorgeous teeth! She has put on the much-needed weight and looks fantastic! Maeve is a very loving girl who just wants to spend time with people. She loves bully sticks and soft toys, she’s yet to tear one apart. She likes to explore the backyard and sunbathe. Her favorite activity though, is being loved on. She craves affection and wants constant contact and loves a schedule, she would do best in a home where someone is home a lot. She will do well in a home with structure and training. She’s high energy and needs a family that will work with her and engage in lots of fun exercise. Maybe will do best in a home with older children and no other dogs, at least until she’s more settled or has training.
