Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Neville! Must be 21 years old to apply and have at least 5 years of home ownership. Please visit our website www.hearts4doxiesrescue.org and submit an application found under the Forms Tab. All applications will be replied to within 72 hours.
Neville, sweet, loving, fun, energetic and full of life best describes this adorable 8 month old puppy! He is part smooth & wirehair, weighs approx. 10 lbs and still growing. He LOVES playing with other small dogs, chasing balls, squeaking toys and yes, the occasional chewing of what's left out! He continues to do great with his potty and leash training, socializing and learning the ropes through positive force free training and treat rewards.
Neville wants to explore this beautiful big world so your adventures must include him. Staying in a yard or walking around the neighborhood is not Neville's best life! He definitely needs to live with at least, if not two, small active dogs with the same energy and personality. His current foster friend is Coco who together, rip roar around playing, chasing and having fun! Neville has a lot of puppy energy so a large secure fence is a must - no small condo/townhome yards or patios. A large yard will not only give him the room to release all that energy but also continue with his potty training.
Neville is neutered, up to date with vaccines, dewormed and microchipped.
Having a puppy takes commitment, time, financial stability, patience and understanding. Neville will need you home at least part-time (not gone longer than 4 hours including commute time), stay at home or work from home. He will do best with older kids (13+) who have grown up with dogs, have respect and knowledge. Being a dachshund, Neville's weight should also be kept ideal to avoid any back issues such as IVDD, not allowed to jump down from high places such a couch and/or human bed, (stairs/ramps are advised), feed a high quality kibble, a joint supplement with Glucosamine & Chondroitin and a fish oil supplement. Breed knowledge, attending puppy classes is required.
Neville will warm you heart with his snuggles, bring loads of laughter with his silliness and be your best friend for years to come.
Neville is fostered in Seattle, WA
