Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Cheyenne and she is a 12 pound terrier mix and is approximately 6 years old. From her paperwork it appears she came into a Central California shelter and was adopted as a puppy and then returned as an adult. She was adopted out again through a friend of our rescue and then basically was in a holding pattern with them until we had room available.
Cheyenne is a terrier through and through. Nothing phases her. She has been for a walk on a busy street with big car carrier trucks speeding by and it was no bother. New pesky puppy in her foster home? No problem! Big dogs? Unphased! Kids? Loves them! That is one of the great things about terriers, they live life to the fullest. The terriers do come with some unique features that come along with the bravery, they can can be "blustery" and reactive when they become irritated. Cheyenne is no exception. If she is chewing on a bone and a dog attempts to take it, she growls and barks and looks quite obnoxious. She also does this when she is playing fetch! We have not had it go any further than that, and although she loves kids, we think she would be better in a home with kids over 12 to prevent any issues.
Cheyenne is housebroken and although she has not figured out the doggy door, she will hold it for a very long time. When her foster family is out of the house she is crated and she sleeps quietly in a crate every night. She goes in without a fuss. Cheyenne is very very quiet except when she is playing! She is a self entertainer and will play with her toys until you are ready to play. Cheyenne is very social with people and when she is on a walk will say hello to anyone you pass by, if you let her. Too cute!!
She gets along with other dogs very well and likes to play with them. Sometimes she can be too abrasive for them. We are looking for an easy going male dog around her same size or a little bigger, or a home where she can live by herself. It would definitely need to be a dog that won't get aggressive with her if she gives a typical terrier reaction.
Cheyenne needs a home with a yard. She is an active dog and even though she is small, she is mighty and feisty so we would like for her to have a yard to play in and hang out in.
This dog is the cutest! She is lively, funny, loving, and a super sweet dog. Her adoption fee is $250.00 plus a $10.99 microchip registration fee. She is microchipped, vaccinated, spayed, and heart worm negative.
