Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Theodore is a handsome 12-year-old, 13-pound Yorkie boy being fostered in Summerfield, FL.
INITIAL BIO 08/24/2019: Theodore comes to UYR from very loving owners who only wanted the best life possible for him. They adopted him from the Humane Society a year ago, as they had a love for senior dogs and desire to choose a senior dog to rescue. Theodore was a perfect dog and very well loved except for one very special circumstance. One of his owners was a professional musician and Theodore absolutely became unhinged with anxiety when his owner practiced piano which was a necessary part of their daily life. Just about EVERYTHING was tried to help Theodore be able to manage the extreme anxiety he experienced during practice time. His owner hired three separate behaviorists, they tried medication, aromatherapy, separating him to another room of the home, and each time Theodore would cower and tremble when the piano music started up. After almost an entire year of trying to work things out, Theodore's owners made the difficult decision to try to find another situation for him so that his senior years could be lived out in comfort and relaxation in a home that was best for HIM. It was a very tearful surrender and it is abundantly obvious to Theodore's foster parents that he was much loved and extremely well cared for.
Theodore has just arrived in his foster home. He is a bigger Yorkie, he is silver with a silky coat and a very docile, submissive personality. He is perfectly house-trained, and does not get onto furniture unless invited by his humans. He loves his crate and when he is anxious he will retreat there and prefers to sleep there; at least for now. The only thing we know for sure about Theodore is that he may NOT go to a noisy home. He likes peace and quiet so no musicians, no kids practicing their piano or band instruments, no homes next to a noisy construction site, etc. for this boy.
Theodore gets along with other pets, loves to lap sit and get belly rubs. He even loves getting his teeth brushed and just allows it with no problem whatsoever. He does have chronic dry eye and needs Optimune eye ointment in both eyes once a day. He loves it and lets you apply it with no problem whatsoever. We are just getting to know him but so far he seems like a pretty perfect dog. Stay tuned for updates as we get to know him better.
