Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This beautiful girl is Kallea, which means “beauty” in Greek! Kallea is an extremely sweet German shepherd who’s about six to seven years old and weighs about 55-60 lbs. While she’s a little shy at first, Kallea is definitely a Velcro dog when she warms up to you! She is very affectionate & attentive; you will never have to worry about being lonely with Kallea around! Kallea also gets along great with other dogs and remains very playful at her age. Her bestie in the rescue is Charlie, an eight-month-old husky mix, and they love to run and play like crazy! You would never guess this sweet girl is coming into her senior years! While Kallea loves to run and play, she is probably the most laid back German shepherd we’ve ever rescued. She is really chill at home, as well as being very calm when socializing and in public. Kallea was found wandering in a neighborhood and taken in by a good Samaritan. She was filthy, underweight, and her feet / pads were red and inflamed with sores, possibly from wandering on hot surfaces for a period of time. Kallea’s finder said she seemed to be exhausted and relieved to have a safe place to rest. Nobody ever came forward to claim her so we set about getting her fixed up! It took some time to get her poor feet healed up (not to mention it being painful for both of us!), but after a course of steroids, we were able to get a handle on things. We don’t know if the issues with her feet were due to burns / injury or allergies, so Kallea may need some ongoing care for environmental allergies. Kallea is house-trained, leash-trained, & crate-trained. It doesn’t seem anybody has ever worked with this poor girl and she is a little insecure so we are working on manners and basic obedience, which will need to be continued in her new home. A securely fenced yard and playful but not overbearing dog sibling will be requirements for her new home. Kallea is fully vetted including de-worming, combo and rabies vaccinations, spay, microchip with a lifetime registration, and she’s heartworm negative. Kallea’s adoption fee is $150 to cover the cost of her vetting. Adoption application, vet reference, home check and adoption contract is required. Filling out an application is the first step in our process. Applications are given preference and attention before emails. Please follow the link below to fill out an application for this doll today!
