Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Cleo was rescued from Puerto Jimenez center in Costa Rica. She was running around for a couple of weeks looking lost and hungry. One day a rescue search was organized and once captured, she was taken to the vet. She was diagnosed with tick fever and received medication for it which cured it. She was spayed and dewormed and tested for heartworm (negative).
She went to be fostered with a humble Tico family, who is taking care of her today. She’s an energetic dog that loves to play (with other dogs and her foster dad) and loves to run.
She does very well with other animals, including horses. She’s got a super friendly demeanor, responds to "venga" (come), "no", and whistling (!), and knows how to wait for her food when it’s served. She is a happy and obedient dog.
When she is off leash she understands it to be a time to run and play, but she won’t run “off” or away. She stays close and when she hears the whistle and / or “venga” she’ll come running towards her foster dad, and can easily be leashed again. We have not observed her ever running off into the jungle, or run away. She will stay around the area where the foster and other dogs are. When she’s on leash, she does NOT pull, she understands to walk calmly next to you.
She gets along with other dogs and cats and kids. As many Costa Rican street dogs she learns quickly.
She’s a dog that can easily adapt and learn and be trained. She’s housebroken.
She is spayed, UTD, 1.5 years old and about 30 lbs.
Her adoption fee is $475.
She’s flying into Toronto beginning of September and will become part of the Furry Family Animal Rescue family.
We are hoping to have her adoptive home waiting for her at that time.
Please share her story and help find her her forever family.
