Drake is a handsome, 60-pound, four-year-old, male, brindle shepherd/terrier-mix looking for a loving guardian.
This special boy is the longest term canine resident at the Oak Park Animal Care League.
A volunteer favorite, he gets cuddles, hikes and even rides in the car for hot dogs at Portillo’s.
Drake was found stray in the River Forest forest preserve in May of 2016 and brought to Animal Care League to find his family.
Poor Drake was never socialized with other dogs and is wary of strangers, so it takes a special person to take the time to get to know him. He doesn’t like when you touch his collar, and he sure doesn’t like going to the vet.
Drake is going to be a loyal and loving companion for the right person, he just hasn’t met them yet! He appears to be housebroken, crate-trained and knows his basic commands. He also loves to play ball.
Drake is healthy, de-wormed, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative. If you are interested in meeting Drake for possible foster/adoption, please contact Alan at alis@animalcareleague.org or 708-848-8155.
His adoption fee of $175 benefits the rescued pets of the Animal Care League at
1011 Garfield, Oak Park, Illinois.
Viewing hours are Monday, Thursday & Friday from noon to 7:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Drake has been at the shelter for over three years and he’s ready to find someone to love him.
