Here's what the humans have to say about me:
PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW!
Lolita (Leigh) is a young small chi estimated to be 1-2 years old and weighs 6 lbs. she is a very sweet, smart, and playful girl and enjoys interacting with the other chis in her foster home. She can be timid around new people or in new situations based on her past life.
Lolita was rescued from a kill shelter in Los Angeles by a vet who cared for her for 3 months before passing her to our organization. Upon coming into our care, we discovered that Lolita had an incontinence issue which was caused by an old injury. She had previous had a fractured vertebrae which healed incorrectly she was compressing her spine.
We have brought her to a neurologist for spinal surgery and she has improved about 80%-90%. She requires a strict diet to keep her digestive tract working consistently.
No small children based on her recent surgery and no larger active dogs that may jump on her.
She is a super sweet girl, very smart and a great listener, very loving and just a total love. She’s clearly come from a bad situation in the past. She will cower or hide around new people or in new situations and needs a loving home to teach her that she is safe. She does piddle if she gets scared.
We currently adopt in the states of NY, NJ, Eastern PA, DE, and some areas in MD. We can not accept applications from other states at this time.
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our adoption application which you can find on our website at www.dutchcountryanimalrescue.org/adopt.html
Our adoption fees are on our application.
All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on rabies and DHPP, heartworm tested, treated for worms and fleas and most are microchipped.
We are not a shelter, we are 100% volunteer public charity. All of our dogs are in foster homes until they are adopted. Since we are not a shelter, we do not receive government funding. We are a public charity that relies solely on funds through our adoption fee, fundraisers, and private donations. Since we are 100% volunteer based, all funds collected go directly towards the rescue and vet costs of our dogs.
We take each rescue personally and spend a lot of effort trying to match the right dog to the right family. Thank you for considering one of our rescued dogs.
