My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bria is a social dog and if her new family doesn’t have furry friends for her, she could still be happy as long as her human family satisfied her dazzling social personality. Children would be a plus, she is a perfect companion for someone that works from home, or an active family that takes their dog to games or jogs.

RDV 890 NAME: Bria
BREED: GS / Lab Mix GENDER: Female
WEIGHT: 50-55 lbs AGE: DOB: 08-11-15
LOCATION: Southern Foster Home DONATION: $450.00

BRIDGE 02-28-20 and her pups were dumped in a desolate spot and it was a true miracle that they were found. Can you imagine how scared she was and then to have little ones that she had to protect, but also feed. A kind woman found them and could not walk away. Thankfully the woman reached out for help and she brought the puppies to a RDVG foster in LA.

Bria is a female German Shepherd Mix, she is four years old, weighs 50-55 lbs., and her DOB is 08/11/15. Our foster mom tells us with much affection that she is polite, super sweet and friendly. She was an amazing mom and is full of life and happiness, very laid back and easy going—she is a marvelous companion for a family or someone that would love to have a buddy that they can take everywhere with them. Bria does great with other dogs and loves her foster mom’s granddaughters.

Mosquitoes carry heartworm and dogs that are not on monthly preventative, like Bria, are victims. Like children, dogs depend on us to take care of them, luckily, she was rescued and will be treated by RDVG. Bria has begun her Heartworm treatment and will be ready for her new home by the end of November or the first of December. For those that don’t understand what Heartworm is; it is basically worms in the heart. After treatment, the dog is healthy, can run and do all normal activities and will live a long and happy life.

After dogs are left on their own, they have to find food wherever they can in the wild. Unfortunately, because Bria had to fend for herself and her babies, RDVG feels it would be best if she had a home without cats! She is very content with just a couple of walks each day, loves her humans and plenty of human interaction. She is grateful when given treats and appreciates and enjoys it when she is brushed.

Rescue is more than giving a dog a home, it is a village of heartfelt dog lovers that will give their hearts and their last dollar to make sure a dog has a happy life. A home with another dog would be nice for her but not required, however, because she is a social dog and if her new family doesn’t have furry friends for her, she could still be happy as long as her human family satisfied her dazzling social personality. Children would be a plus, she is a perfect companion for someone that works from home, or an active family that takes their dog to games or jogs.

This adorable gal is looking for a loving family that will dote on her and treat her as she deserves--a lifetime cherished member. Our rescue works from our hearts for our dogs; it is the least we can do for them because they deserve nothing less. We owe it to our dogs that the wonderful people who stand to be the last chapter of their rescue and the first chapter of their new forever lives deserve her.

German Shepherds are friendly and calm, however, they are ready to protect, play a game or perform a task. This dog breed is known for its intelligence (currently ranked #3) and the ability to retain training is legendary. The desire to learn and work gives them the trait to be purposeful in what they do.

Children & Other Dogs - They are very loyal, the bond is very tight between their owner and family, including children and other dogs. Other characteristics of this breed are its courage, alertness, and flexibility.

This dog cannot be adopted to Massachusetts residents due to new laws regarding rescue dogs being prohibited from adoption. Please contact Patricia Cabral at: 617-626-1786 or Mike Cahill at: 617-626-1794 for questions regarding what dogs you are allowed to adopt

ALL interested adopters MUST complete an application; agree to a vet reference check, phone interview and home visit. ALL family members MUST be in attendance for home visits - no exceptions. This helps us get to know everyone in the family so that we can help find the right dog for you

ABOUT OUR RESCUE
These dogs deserve all of our attention, and in Rescue Dog Village, we are committed to our adopters and our dogs equally. We offer full disclosure and hope to make the best matches possible. Please know our adoption donations never cover our expenses. We rely on the generosity of our adopters and supporters to help us help the dogs.

Our rescue is ONLY in the business of offering FULL DISCLOSURE to adopters, and expects and hopes to engage your questions and concerns fully. We owe it to the dogs we rescue and all the wonderful families/adopters who might consider welcoming our charges into their hearts and home. Our dogs are waiting for that ideal forever home where they will be cherihed as deserving family members. It's sad these second chances are even necessary for these dogs, but we are committed to them and will devote the time and energy to their re-homing, and not just MOVE them to save more dogs. We diligently and responsibly seek good matches, as we don't want to re-home the dog again. These animals have already endured more than they should have, and through no fault of their own. It behooves us to be honest and forthright, and we appreciate the same in return from applicants. It's that winning combination of reciprocal trust and respect that allows for successful placements to be made. Happy adopters translate to happy dogs, and that's our goal!

Our rescue volunteers will be more than honored to be in touch with you directly and promptly, after receiving your application and conducting a mandatory a veterinarian check. If you have never owned a dog before, please submit your application regardless, and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible. TAKE NOTE YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR SPAM AS SOME RESPONSES FROM US WIND UP THERE WE'VE DISCOVERED. Also, take care to contact your veterinarian to let them know a member of rescue will be inquiring about your pet history!
