Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Update 06/20/09: Hi, it's me, Sophie. Yep, I am still Sopie and I love it. See my new haircut? I like it alot and it is helping foster mom get to all my tick bites and help clean them up! It's also pretty nice cause it is very hot outside. Dixie says we are not going to stay here too long, that you will come and take us home? See I don't do well without Dixie. Pretty much all I do without her is jump up on the bed to sleep! She can't jump that high cause she's fat. I get up there all by my self and get foster mom's pillow...I like it when she rolls me over and tells me she's gonna get my tummy!!!
I went back to the vet dude Thursday and he cleaned my teeth and cleaned out my ears. Boy I hear things now I haven't heard for years. The vet dude say it was wonderful cause I only lost 4 teeth! He said I was very beautiful and a good girl.
I am very shy, and even more when I can't find Dixie. I eat from the same dish as Dixie and won't eat till she has started, then we share.

Initial Bio 06/16/09: Pssst! Guess what? I have a name now!!! Yea!!! I never had one of those before. Sophie, she called me Sophie!!!
This is Sophie's foster mom. Sophie and her sister Dixie were rescued yesterday in AZ and transported to CA today. They were previously owned by an older woman who forgot she had them. She thought they were great outside dogs. They didn't have names. They were completely covered in ticks, fleas and feces. Thanks Auntie Rene for the 3 baths last night! They went to the vet today and both appear to be surprisingly healthy! Sophie is going to have a dental soon.
Because Sophe is so small, she is only 5.31#, she will not be placed in a home with children under 12. She will also need lots of TLC, she has been an outside dog all of her 8-9 years so she is NOT housetrained yet. She appears to be highly intelligent and eager to please. Don't overlook her because of her age.
We'll keep you informed as she settles in! If you are interested in adopting this beautiful baby, please submit an application.
