Update 06/20/09: Hey! This is Dixie, yes that's my name, Dixie. The vet guy says I am about 6-7 years old. I am very, very smart! Foster dad says so. I know my name already. I am a little lover, I love to lay in foster dad's lap or at his feet while he works on the computer. The vet guy says I am very healthy but I'm gonna have to have my teeth cleaned in 3-4 months. Foster mom says I can go to a furever home after the first part of July. Won't you consider being my new mommy and daddy? It would be really nice if you bring my sister, Sophie with us. I am vey attached to her. I woould be daddy's dog and Sophie could be mommy's dog...see how that works? Oh, and check out my new do...foster dad had all my yucky hairs cut off and I'm fresh as a rose! Let me know when you are gonna come get us, Okay????
Initial Bio 06/16/09: Mmm this lady said I had to write to tell you about me. She is calling me Dixie? I think I have a name? I never had one before. I am so confused...foster mom said she would write for me.
This is Dixie's foster mom. Dixie and her sister Sophie were rescued yesterday in AZ and transported to CA today. They were previously owned by an older woman who forgot she had them. She thought they were great outside dogs. They didn't have names. They were completely covered in ticks, fleas and feces. Thanks Auntie Rene for the 3 baths last night! They went to the vet today and both appear to be surprisingly healthy!
Because Dixie is so small, she is currently at 5.12# and need to lose some weight, she will not be placed in a home with children under 12. She will also need lots of TLC, she has been an outside dog all of her 7 years so she is NOT housetrained yet.
