Here's what the humans have to say about me:
April Bio Located in Merritt Island, Florida, Brevard County
April or affectionately known as April May is a 5 year old, female, White German Shepherd.
April May is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, flea, tick and heartworm prevention, she is microchipped. Must have fenced in yard.
April May was originally an owner surrender to our Rescue 4 years ago because of going after a small dog we do not know today how she is with small animals because she has not been around any. She was Adopted but Sadly her Mom passed away suddenly on July 19th. On that dreadful day we put in an emergency plan of action to bring April May into Rescue. April's former owner, Jean was not just an Adopter but a good friend which sometimes our adopted dogs lead to great friendships and Jean was my friend. Jean was letting me know she was not feeling well and was trying to make emergency decisions for April but this tragedy just happened way too soon and I am still feeling grief and April is learning to adjust as well. April May was Jean's main and number one companion, always by her side. We are looking for a similar type of home where April can bond to her person.
Since in foster care April is very well behaved, loves to hoard her toys and hide her special treats in her allocated secret spaces, which could be under a desk, in a chair, or well just about anywhere. April is good with other dogs but does not play with other dogs. Cats unknown. April really needs someone looking for another companion and someone that can spend a lot of time with her. April is not a Service Dog Candidate, but can be a great in home emotional support dog. April loves to play fetch so a nice big yard would be great for her. April May is not good around small children she is afraid of them so mature older children possibly over the age of 13 would be best.
