Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet our new girl, Cricket! Cricket was transferred to Canines & Company from another rescue in the hopes of getting her more exposure to find the perfect home for her. She has beauty, brains, and everything else you would expect from a young and driven border collie mix! She is approximately 1.5 years old and is what is called a "double merle" coloring, which happens when two merle dogs are mixed together, causing the lack of pigment in their fur, around their eyes, and mouth. This caused Cricket to be born with the visual impairment of one of her eyes, but she has full sight in the other and doesn't let that hold her back one bit.
Cricket is a driven working breed that will require an adopter or family that is able to keep up with her activity level and keep her challenged as she matures. She is goofy and silly and enjoys anything that involves affection and physical praise. She is medium food drive and will work readily for treats. Cricket is medium to high toy drive and lives for fetch or tug.
Cricket has been fostered with a professional dog trainer from Found Training Center for the past few months who has worked with her on all of her basic obedience and more! Cricket knows some adorable tricks and has some serious impulse control down with all of her trainer's hard work! We are now accepting applications for a home for Cricket that in interested in a fun little working dog and has some herding or working breed experience. She has lived with a cat, but will definitely give chase, and does well with most dogs after a proper introduction. Cricket truly lives to please her handler and would love to hike, jog, or train with anyone who is willing.
Cricket's adoption fee comes with a FREE six week group course at Found Training Center and lifetime training support from our trainers. Please email brittney@caninesandcompany.org for more info on how to meet our happy girl.
